Giant-Sized That Gets My Goat 68

Big and Rish continue, in the aftermath of DuPoReMo, to talk about ambition, pride, The Broken Mirror Story Event 2012, regrets, TROLL 2, achievements, and the future of the regular podcast.

Rish here. I meant to cut this into a couple of different shows (and I did cut a significant part out, which, sadly, is referred to within, because what we talk about hasn't happened yet), but I've gotten so behind that I figured I'd just put it out here. Enjoy?

  1. I love the show the way it is with open submissions. I would also like a show with just your stories and the contracted ones that you guys get. Either way I would be happy. I don't know how many unsolicited stories have made the podcast but I know that I have enjoyed all the episodes and bonus shows that are your stories too. In all, I guess what I'm saying is that I enjoy all that you do and will continue to listen until you stop. Thanks for the quality show and entertainment.

  2. Come on Guys, you're a natural double act. Your news, comment and reviews should remain the focus of your broadcasts. Maybe just stop advertising for new material and take it as it comes while maintaining a solid stable of contributors.
On a sadder note and reflecting to some degree on Rish's comments on age etc., I was saddened to learn from SFFaudio that the narrator Greg Margarite has died. I first came across him at Librivox searching for sci-fi audio and unfortunately for everyone else I used him as the standard for acceptable quality. His rugged tone was perfect for those distopic universes created by authors of the 40, 50 and 60's. His recordings are of such a high standard and readily downloadable from his web site, and he did all this for free.

  3. I enjoy the handful of your own stories that I have heard, but I really like the show as it is. Don't change your format. If you can't keep up the productions, just keep doing the TGMGs.

Besides, you generate much more of a name for yourselves as hosts than if you were to just put up your own material. That would probably get old after a while. Instead, you should actually submit to other publications! If you need a deadline, you could set quarterly or semi-annual release podcasts for your own material.

    Keep up the oddness.
