  1. If it makes you feel any better, I totally get what you're talking about in terms of the unexpected semi-autonomous urge, Rish. It goes all the way down to verbal tics, sometimes, where I will be singing along with the radio alone in the car and suddenly start muttering my wife's name like I was Gollum.

  2. So Rish, I don't know if I have ever had one of those magnetic moments where I felt involuntarily drawn in to kiss someone, though I have been overwhelmingly attracted to the girl.

I am totally with you on the reading too much into something she said vs. "Is she really sending me clues amd I am too stupid to get them?". On a couple occasions, I had been completely into a girl who did not share those feelings, but I convinced myself otherwise. They both led to the infamous, can't-we-be-good-friends moment. I was also overweight and shy, so that didn't lend itself well to my success.

However, later when I had lost weight and everything else seemed to be going right, I had a great deal of confidence and really enjoyed dating many girls with no other intent than going out and having a good time. (Mind you I'm not talking about one night stands, none of that.) No pressure for "Is this the one?", just enjoying being out with a nice girl and having fun. I dated several of the girls that I used to pine after, and it was fun, but again it's because there was no pressure. Later on I met my wife.
