TGMG 188: Nobody's Favorite Christmas Songs

Rish asked some of our listeners to name a Christmas song they could do without ever hearing again, and he and Big talk (and sing) all about it.  It's either our best episode of the year or our worst one.  You be the judge!

Caveat 1: There's language in this one, more so than even usual.

Caveat 2: Sorry about the lateness and condition of this episode. I tried to have it done on time, but the editing program kept on crashing, even to the point where I'd open the program, and before typing a single damned thing, it would crash again. My time was running out, and the only solution I could think of was to go back to the original files, and save them over the corrupted ones, even though it meant losing most of the musical underscore and a lot of the completed editing.

And going off to the family farm for Christmas Eve meant I'd have to post the episode myself, which I don't believe has happened before. If there are any problems or major errors in the show, let Big know and we'll get it reposted the right way.

Until then, Merry Christmas. And I wasn't kidding about the salty language.

P.S. Leslie Nielsen played Santa in ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS.

  1. Rish is so talented he nails "Mary Did You Know" almost word for word despite never hearing it; therefore making me associate him with that syrupy song forever.
I had to look it up to see who performs the version I keep being assaulted with and it looks like Mary K Blige, (whomever that is) although Wiki says everyone from Donny Osmond to Ce Lo Green has recorded it. I wonder why Rammstein hasn't.

  2. I have still never heard the song, though I did look it up. These may (or may not) be the actual lyrics:

Mary did you know that your baby boy will someday walk on water?
Mary did you know that your baby boy will save our sons and daughters?
Did you know that your baby boy will be played by Jim Caviezel?
Although in next year's sequel I hear they're going with Vin Diesel.

Mary did you know that your baby boy is Lord of all creation?
Mary did you know that your baby boy would one day rule the nations?
Mary did you know that your boy will allow the blind to see ya?
Mary did you know your boy will show up a Mexican tortilla?
