Rish Performs "Something's Wrong With Mom" on Tales To Terrify

Rish here.  Over on the Tales To Terrify podcast, there's another one of my readings available.  This one is by Warren Benedetto, and it's called "Something's Wrong With Mom."  Based on something we've all experienced, it tells of two boys whose mother seems to be crawling on the ceiling.

Check it out at THIS LINK, if you like.

Rish and Marshal Review KING SOLOMON'S MINES (1985)

Marshal Latham and I talk about 1985's KING SOLOMON'S MINES, starring Richard Chamberlin, Sharon Stone, and John Rhys-Davies.  How cheap a movie are we talking about?  How much of an Indiana Jones ripoff is it?  And will Marshal ever forgive me for making him sit through it?

Check out the review HERE.

And support Marshal's Patreon over HERE while you're at it.

Big's Story "Still They Ride" on Delusions of Grandeur

Last year (or maybe it was the year before), Marshal Latham had a contest over on his Journey Into... podcast where he assigned Journey song titles, and volunteers were supposed to write short stories based on those song titles.  Well, you've already heard mine ("Troubled Child"), but everybody's pal Big Anklevich also contributed one.

His was called "Still They Ride," and since it had a Star Wars theme, we decided to put it on the "Delusions of Grandeur" podcast.  It features Speeder Bikes, and has a fun, full-cast production.  Afterward, Big joins Marshal and me to talk about the story and the various Stormtroopers throughout the Trilogy (and beyond).  Check it out HERE!

Rish and Marshal Review BATTLE BEYOND THE STARS

Over on the Outfield Excursions show (part of the Journey Into... channel), Marshal Latham and I talk about BATTLE BEYOND THE STARS, a Roger Corman-produced Sci-Fi adventure starring Johnboy Walton and John Saxon, from 1980.  Is it a rip-off of STAR WARS or a rip-off of THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN?  Can it be both?

Check it out HERE!

Marshal and Rish Review THE INNOCENTS (1961)

The previous episode of The Outfield Excursions was discussing THE TURNING, a 2020 adaptation of Henry James's "The Turn of the Screw."  This episode is its evil twin, as Marshal Latham and Rish discuss a 1961 adaptation called THE INNOCENTS.  It's quite a bit more faithful to the 1898 source material, but will that save the children?

Check it out HERE . . . unless you're not that innocent.

Big, Rish, & Marshal Talk EWOKS: BFE

Do you miss That Gets My Goat?  Well, Marshal and I corralled Big Anklevich to come on the "Delusions of Grandeur" podcast again, and talk to us about "The Ewoks: Battle For Endor" TV movie.  It was the first time I had seen it since 1985, and I think Big remembered it even less than I did.  Marshal Latham himself had never seen it.

But it was not a bad movie, in my opinion, and the episode of us talking about it, is one of our best.  It took practically forever for me to edit, but it made me laugh more than any other "Delusions" episode we've done.

Check it out HERE . . . but make sure to bring your boob armor.

Marshal and I Review THE TURNING (2020)

Rish here.  Hey, over in the Outfield Excursions podcast, Marshal Latham and I thought it would be fun to take a look at two adaptations of "The Turn of the Screw," starting with THE TURNING, an awful 2020 haunted house flick that is, frankly, none of your concern.

Check it out HERE!

Marshal, Big, and Rish Discuss THE EWOK ADVENTURE

Hey there, over at the "Delusions of Grandeur" podcast, there's an episode with Marshal, Big, and Rish talking about the 1985 TV movie THE EWOK ADVENTURE (aka CARAVAN OF COURAGE).  Was it as good as the boys remembered?  And what if Marshal didn't remember it at all?

Rish Performs "Knock, Knock, Wolf" on Pseudopod

Rish here.  Back in May, my man Shawn Garrett over at Pseudopod, The Horror Podcast, sent me a story by Peter Galalis called "Knock, Knock, Wolf."  He thought it would be a good fit for me.

I don't disagree.  It's a story about an old woman who is put in the unenviable position of protecting her village from a wolf that walks on two legs.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure I pronounced the last name of the writer right (even after asking).

Check it out at THIS LINK.

Marshal and Rish Review THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH (1934)

Rish here.  Marshal Latham and I are both Alfred Hitchcock fans, and have talked about a handful of his movies on Marshal's Journey Into... podcast sub-show "Outfield Excursions."  When I found a copy of a DVD collection of twenty of Hitch's movies at the library, I scooped it up, watching THE LADY VANISHES, and eventually the 1934 version of THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH.

We thought it would be fun to watch it and the 1958 remake to compare and contrast them (it was the only film Hitchcock made twice in his lengthy career).  The copy I watched was in pretty bad shape, and the whole film is on YouTube for free, ironically, in a slightly better transfer than on the DVD.

Our review of the first movie is available at THIS LINK, with the conversation about the remake to follow.  Marshal does the editing of these podcasts himself, which is just about the most thankless task you can imagine, believe me.

Rish's Voice On "The Deadbringer"

Rish here.  A while back, I was asked if I'd perform a character on a Fantasy/Horror serial called "The Deadbringer" by E.M. Markoff.  I play the main character's uncle, Eutau Vidal (try saying that in a natural way, kids), who runs a funeral parlor in a fantasy kingdom.  I don't show up until the second episode. but I'm definitely the main part in that show.

HorrorAddicts shows are really, really long, and packed with content, but you can find the start of the episode at about 29:00 at THIS LINK.

Oh, and here's a LINK to the first episode as well.  Heck, since I'm not in it, you might actually enjoy it more.

Big's Voice on Rish's Story on Journey Into...

So, a year back, Marshal Latham held a story contest on his Journey Into... podcast, and Rish sent him a story called "Troubled Child."  Now, somehow, it's been presented as one of the winners on his show.

So, a married couple discover that their baby daughter is drawn to unhappiness, and seems to draw it into herself.

The madman Marshal has once again produced it with full-cast, including Big Anklevich as the father, and an honest-to-goodness child to voice the child in the story.  Check it out HERE.

Marshal and Rish Review METEOR (1979)

In honour of your friend and mine, Sean Connery, Marshal Latham and I sat down and talked about the 1979 Disaster movie METEOR on his show "Outfield Excursions."  Also, you can watch the damn thing--the movie, not the podcast--free at this link.

That Gets My Goat 236: Thanos Defeats Truman!

So, this is an episode that was recorded just about two years ago (the last week of February 2019) with Rish, Big, and Marshal Latham, in preparation for the release of AVENGERS: ENDGAME later that year.  Rish really wanted to talk about the monumental achievement that was AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR, and that, for a year, the world was stuck with the unhappy ending of all unhappy endings.

Of course, we talk about THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK, and also speculate a bit about where the fourth Avengers film might go.  And then Rish lost the file.

But he found it again when it was far too late to be even remotely relevant, but if you've missed us and our conversations, here it is, in all its . . . glory?

Big and Rish's Voices on Journey Into...

Marshal Latham has finally started running his Journey Into Journey story contest winners on his Journey Into... podcast.  This month, he's presenting "Chain Reaction" by Sam McDonald, and it's an amazing array of voice talent on this one.  In addition to Marshal, he's got Rish and Big Anklevich, Bria Burton, Dave Robison, Tena Kolokowski, and Anne B. Davis as Alice.  And as for the narrator, he's saddled the wild stallion of podcasting, Norm Sherman.

Big Joins Rish and Marshal To Talk About Star Wars's Future

Over on the Delusions of Grandeur podcast, Marshal and Rish have Big on to talk about the various future Star Wars projects on the horizon (at least until they run out of time, that is).  Check it out HERE.
